How do I arrange a funeral?  What is the fee for that?

A:  All arrangements must go through Fr. Leo.  Please call the rectory at 313-291-4050.  Please call as soon as possible to begin the process: 

  • Mass with casket present
  • Mass with cremains
  • Memorial mass sometime after without the casket or cremains

 

Do you rent the hall?

A:  Our Parish Hall is rented to parishioners only for a cost of $200.00 ($100.00 for rental & $100.00 for insurance).  Contact the rectory at 313-291-4050 for details and availability.


What are your office hours?

How do I set up a baptism?  Do the Godparents have to be Catholic?  What is the fee for that?

A:  All arrangements must go through Fr. Leo.  Please call the rectory at 313-291-4050.  At least one of the Godparents must be Catholic.  A free-will offering is not necessary.


How do I set up a wedding?   What is the fee for that?

A:  All arrangements must go through Fr. Leo.  Please call the rectory at 313-291-4050.  Normally, please call at least 6 months prior to the date.  This is a free-will offering.


Can I get a mass intention for someone?  What is the fee for that?

A:  Arrangements can be made in the rectory.  Please call 313-291-4050 or stop in during secretarial business hours:  9:00am to 4:00pm Monday-Friday.  This is a free-will donation.


Can I make an appointment with Father Leo?

A:  Please call the rectory at 313-291-4050 at any time.


Do you help with rent, utilities, etc?

A:  We have a program in place for people in our area through our St. Vincent de Paul conference.  Residents in the city of Taylor are divided geographically between St. Alfred, Our Lady of the Angels and St. Constance.  Call the parish St. Vincent de Paul line at 313-438-6110 for more information.


Do you hold Alcoholics Anonymous meetings there?

A:  Every Monday night at 8:30pm in our parish hall.


Do you hold Narcotics Anonymous meetings there?

A:  Every Wednesday night at 8:30pm in our parish hall.


Do you have a prayer group or prayer meetings?

A:  Our Light of Christ Prayer Group meets every Wednesday at 8:00pm in the church.  All are welcome.


Do you have a group for teens?

A:  Yes!  Our Youth Ministry, the Knights of St. Constance, meets every Sunday from 6:30-8:00pm in the Youth Room in the rectory basement.  For more information, contact Mario & Nancy Bouchard at 313-274-3979.


Do you have RCIA?

A:  Yes!  Our program runs from September through Easter on Thursdays from 7:00-9:00pm.  Please contact Ken & Marilyn Wurster with questions or to sign up at 313-295-4573.


Are you hiring?  Do you have any jobs available?

A:  I’m sorry, not at this time.


Can I do my community service there?  What if it is court ordered?

A:  We do occasionally use community service volunteers for projects.  Contact Cheryl Twigg at 313-291-4050 to see if there are any projects in progress.


Do you have a group for widows?  Or for single people?

A:  Our Buttons and Bows group is for widowed, divorced, or single women.  They meet once monthly.  Please see our calendar page for more information or contact Pat Holland at 313-291-4050 for monthly dates and activities.
